A Gorgeous Family on a Beautiful Campus

Also on a beautiful afternoon at the University of Oklahoma campus I had the opportunity to take family portraits for my college roommate and dear friend. I had so much fun catching up with her family and meeting her new baby boy. We spent a while wandering around the campus we have so many fond memories of...talk about nostalgia. The kids were such great sports with the photos and I think we all had a pretty good time!

Carly and Bandit

Last weekend the weather was absolutely beautiful during my trip to Oklahoma so it was a great opportunity to take some fall portraits. The challenge of the afternoon was to get shots of my cousin and her feisty dog, Bandit, to both smile at the camera at the same time. I'm proud to say - we did it! One of these photos is sure to make its way onto some Christmas cards in the very near future...

Air Force Baby Beauty

This weekend I visited Dyess Air Force Base to spend time with my brother-in-law before his deployment next week. While there I couldn't help but take some portraits of my little niece. She is now four months old and has some serious leg strength! Such an amazing little girl and I already miss snuggling with her!

Inflatable Birthday Party Fun

Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph an 8 year old's birthday party at a local Pump-it-Up establishment. What a fun place for kids to play! I was a little overwhelmed at first with all of the crazy activity and children running around screaming, doing cartwheels, and flying down large inflatable slides. However whenever the kids are having fun, the photos end up being fun! I got some great action shots, cute close-ups of hugging friends, and of course the traditional birthday party shots. It definitely seemed like a good time was had by all!

Petting Zoo Birthday Party

I was recently asked to photograph 2 year old Olivia's birthday party at a petting zoo in McKinney and I can honestly say I think I had as much fun as the children! The animals were a hoot to pet and photograph - I am definitely a sucker for cute animal shots! The children seemed to have a lot of fun running around playing on the facility's playground equipment and petting the animals. It was a really cool idea for a child's birthday party! There were some great (and unusual!) photo opportunities. Every time I look at the results from this event I can't help but smile.

Balloon Glow

These photos aren't necessarily of children or families, but I was able to attend the Plano Balloon Fest for the first time ever and got a few shots during the balloon glow event. Such a neat opportunity - though extremely crowded! However, I'm thinking early morning portraits next year around one of the sunrise launches could be a fun photo opportunity...

Meet The Happiest Baby You'll Ever See

Baby Emelyn is by far the happiest baby I have ever seen. Even during our session, which wasn't on one of her best days, this girl could still charm anyone. She was fascinated by the camera and wanted to take the pictures herself! On the advice of her parents I didn't let her have my camera - but we did take some adorable photos at her house. Have you seen a cuter baby??

Meet Two Sweet Sisters

Little Eva and Celina were such a fun pair to photograph! Both girls are going to grow up beautiful with their dark hair and bright eyes - and great smiles to match! Eva had fun playing with my photo props and trying out new poses, and Celina was pretty content with everything. We got some really cute shots of each girl showing off her new outfits. We took the portraits at their house (you can't tell, can you??) so we had access to an entire closet of clothes and accessories which made things so much better!

Meet This Adorable Pair of Siblings

One of the great parts of living in a large metro area is that there are so many portrait opportunities available! I had a great time trying out a new location in Allen, Texas with this great brother and sister pair. We found railroad tracks, farm equipment, sunflowers, a historic dam, and a hidden railroad trestle. I definitely hope to take more clients out to these spots soon. Little Hudson and Haley were a blast to photograph - both had beautiful smiles and didn't want to leave!

Meet My Favorite Little Sooner

Lucas and his momma came out for a quick photo shoot at the end of the day on one of OU's home game weekends. We wanted to get some photos of the handsome 6 month old in his OU gear before he outgrew it! His session was a little tricky as it was his first time to touch grass (I think he's going to be a big fan of the outdoors!) and he also wanted to show off his new "rolling" skills for me. We had fun though and got some cute shots that totally express his personality. I wish the sun could have stayed out longer that day because I could go for hours taking photos of this precious boy and never get tired!!

Meet Spunky Little Preston

Is it possible to be totally adorable, spunky, polite, and just a little bit ornery all wrapped into one? It is if you're 4 year old Preston! I had a blast taking portraits of this little firecracker in one of my hometown parks. I knew we were going to have fun when he proclaimed very loudly "this is soooo lame" and followed it up with a totally cheesy grin! This boy was an expert at posing - the minute he saw my camera pointing at him he would smile and imitate what I can only imagine are the models he's seen on television. It was so cute and made my job so much easier! We even got some action sports photos and formal baseball and golf poses done in the session. Thanks Preston for being such a good sport (even if you did stick your tongue out at me a few times near the end!).

Meet Baby Abby

I might be a little biased (because she is my niece!) but baby Abby is absolutely adorable! We had a blast taking pictures and trying out all sorts of props with her. Despite being a gorgeous girl she was not a very big fan of tutus! We got a couple good shots of her wearing the frilly tutus but it took quite a bit of effort and sneakiness (i.e. waiting until she fell asleep) on our part. She did love my sheepskin rug though - I think she would have slept all day on it if we had let her!

Here are a few shots of my beautiful little niece:

A big thank you to my sister-in-law for being as enthusiastic about portraits as I was!
